The Ryan Foundation supports the Early Learning Academy at St. Robert Bellarmine
The Ryan Foundation recently donated $500,000 to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of Omaha in December 2020.
The entirety of this donation will be used to support the recently established Reed Family Early Learning Academy (ELA). The ELA opened in September 2020 and strives to provide a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment which fosters the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, physical and creative development of each student.
In life, Dr. and Mrs. Ryan supported St. Robert Bellarmine in various initiatives. This donation represents a continuation of their support for the Parish.
The ELA project continues the legacy of St. Roberts’ founding pastor, Msgr. Eugene Kerwin, in developing the “whole person” and fostering children in a deep love of God. Today, under the tenure of Fr. Stillmunks, the parish continues to address the future needs of young families.
St. Robert’s currently serves over 2,900 parish families and 565 students who attend their K-8 school. The Early Learning Academy was proposed in 2019 as a means to address the needs of working families with young children who need year-round childcare and preschool. The academy accepts children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. To learn more about the St. Roberts ELA, please visit their website.
