The Ryan Foundation expands support for Archdiocese of Omaha scholarship funds

The Ryan Foundation recently pledged to donate $2,145,000 to the Archdiocese of Omaha in March 2022.

The purpose of this Donation is to continue funding two scholarship funds in honor of Eileen and Dr. Wayne L. Ryan, which assist lower income individuals with the cost of attending catholic high schools in Omaha and the surrounding region. The funds are known as the “Ryan Foundation Catholic Elementary School Fund” and the “Eileen and Wayne Ryan Memorial Scholarship Fund.” Additionally, a portion of the donation will go toward supporting the Archdiocese of Omaha Latino Student Enrollment Initiative.

Dr. Ryan and Eileen were always very generous with their support of, and commitment to, Catholic education. This donation is a continuation of that support.

The Archdiocese of Omaha serves, supports, and advances a diverse, progressive, and expanding school system of 71 schools, rich in the tradition of deep Catholic identity and high expectations. There are currently 20,000 students enrolled in 71 schools across 23 Nebraska counties. These school communities provide sustainable Christ-filled classes and service opportunities while aiming to teach the whole child and encourage them to pursue personal and academic excellence. Students are taught to be loving and engaged citizens as they contribute to their civic and church communities.
