The Ryan Foundation donates to the Boone Beginnings Early Childhood & Family Development Center
The Ryan Foundation donated $200,000 to Boone Beginnings Early Childhood & Family Development Center of Albion, Nebraska in June 2021.
Boone Beginnings Early Childhood & Family Development Center is a community wide effort to construct a new childcare center for Boone County. The Center, which is currently under construction, will be 12,000 ft² with the capacity for 80 children. Once constructed, the center will provide care from infancy through five years of age. Staff will be trained to help children from the earliest age to develop socially and emotionally by incorporating a proven, play-based curriculum.
The funds will be used to assist with the construction costs of the Center, which are expected to be around $2.7 million. Construction of the building is expected to be completed in September of 2021. Boone Beginnings is destined to have a positive impact on the local economy by helping alleviated the shortage of childcare so parents can work, helping employers attract and retain employees, helping Boone County attract and retain young families, and most importantly, helping the youngest children by providing a safe, fun environment with quality care focused on making sure they develop the skills needed for kindergarten.
Benefactor of the Ryan Foundation, Eileen Ryan and her family had many connections to Albion, and Boone County.
