The Ryan Foundation Supports the Evangelium Institute of Omaha
The Ryan Foundation donated $200,000 to the Evangelium Institute of Omaha, Nebraska in January 2022.
The Evangelium Institute (EI) seeks to bring a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith to Catholic school teachers, those in deacon formation, college students, catechists, and other interested adults. EI staff provides formation in the Catechism of the Catholic Church as well as Spiritual Formation and practical applications, with an emphasis on personal relationships with Jesus Christ and an encouragement towards personal prayer. In addition to dynamic presentations, the organization offers retreats, small group formation, bible study, and optional spiritual direction. These programs are all facilitated by EI staff who create and foster an atmosphere where our participants can speak about and share their faith with their colleagues, students, and those people they meet in their everyday lives.
The donation will help seed the Catholic Studies Center and increase EI’s ability to service the needs of the Archdiocese of Omaha, with particular focus on growing the formation programs at the John Paul II Newman Center. As their offerings increase, a greater portion of Catholic community will be supported in the Catholic faith and in communion with each other. The long-term impact of their work at the Catholic Studies Center will impact hundreds of adults, and thousands of young parish and school students.
