Ryan Foundation donates to Holy Name Men's Club in support of Restore the Glory Campaign

The Ryan Foundation donated $250,000 to The Holy Name Men’s Club of Omaha, Nebraska in June 2021. The Donation will support the Restore the Glory Campaign.

“Holy Name”, has been an anchor in Northeast Omaha for over 100 years. The Holy Name Men’s Club Restore the Glory Campaign with its renovation and new construction will provide services and opportunities to children and families in Northeast Omaha for the next 100 years. Holy Name School, founded in 1918 as a K-12 school, today is a Pre-K to 8th grade elementary school. The school consistently draws an average of 230-280 students annually, with room to grow. They come to learn about academics, athletic sportsmanship, spiritual excellence, and human compassion in daily life. The Holy Name Men’s Club was established in 1944, and in 2017, the Holy Name Men’s Club in union with the Pastor and Parish expanded its mission to accommodate the Restore the Glory Capital Campaign and incorporated as a Nebraska not-for-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.

The donation will assist the Holy Name Men’s Club with Phase I of the Restore the Glory Campaign. Phase I will see the renovation of the fieldhouse, the construction of a new community center space, the and the construction of a connector between the Field house and main school building. The total cost of Phase I is expected to be around $3.37 million. The completion of this project will establish a safer physical environment on the Holy Name campus. The upgrades to the 15,000 sq. ft. Field House includes the installation of a new climate control system, better emergency egress/handicap access, a catering kitchen, updated athletic and common spaces, and the replacement of the tile floor laid in 1965. The newly renovated areas will provide Community Center space for conference rooms accommodating groups of 10 to 50 people for meetings, events, professional development training and increasing the Out-of-School Time Program from 35 students to 250 students daily. The construction of a Connector between the Field House and the school building will provide a secure entrance with handicapped accessibility to all facilities.

The donation will be the latest gift to support Catholic education in the Omaha area for the Ryan Foundation. The Foundation has made several investments to strengthen the community in the past year including funding a scholarship program through the Archdiocese of Omaha, and helping finance a portion of the Reed Family Early Learning Academy at St. Robert Bellarmine.
